Fundraising Training Topics
The most common training we are asked to do is to help a board of directors learn
how to fundraise. Generally, this is either a three-hour session scheduled on
a weekday after work or a four-hour session scheduled on a weekend. We will come
to your location and make a dynamic presentation that engages your board in discussing
their vision for your organization, help them realize their responsibilities
as board members, and teach them how to ask others for money. We conclude by
getting commitments from board members on precisely what kind of fundraising
they will commit to doing. We’re results-oriented: generally, for each
board member present, an American organization will receive at least $1,000 in
pledges.
We also conduct trainings for national organizations at their conferences. These
trainings are for staff and/or board members. They include topics such as Triple
Your Dollars, Writing for Results and How to Ask for Money. Presentations range
from one hour to an entire day (or more). These are not lectures, but are interactive
and are designed to keep adult professionals engaged and challenged. We decide
on objectives in advance, and people leave with specific tools, handouts and
knowledge that help them produce immediate results.
Each seminar is tailored for the specific needs of the organization, and all
fees and expenses are determined in advance. See a list of upcoming seminars.
